Bell Media’s MuchFACT Announces Fund Recipients for May 29, 2014 Music Committee

MuchFACT-funded videos received 26 nominations at this year’s Much Music Video Awards

TORONTO (May 29, 2014) – Bell Media’s MuchFACT (A Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent) announced today the 43 fund recipients from the May 29, 2014 music committee meeting. With more than 243 applications considered, a total of $619,505 was awarded to Canadian musicians in the following categories: Music Content Package, Music Videos, Online Music Video/Project, and Digital Tools.

MuchFACT congratulates all of the nominated artists at the upcoming Much Music Video Awards, announced earlier this month. MuchFACT-funded music videos received a total of 26 nominations at the 2014 MMVAs including videos from Toronto indie rock band July Talk, who have just signed international deals with Island (U.S.) and Polydor (Europe), Vancouver hip-hop artist SonReal, who’s hit video "Everywhere We Go" has received more than 1 million views on YouTube, electro-dance duo Autoerotique, who have seen their video "Asphyxiation" surpass 2.5 million views on YouTube, and many more. The MMVA-nominated videos represent more than half a million dollars in investment.
