Bell Media’s MuchFACT Announces Fund Recipients for February 12, 2015 Music Committee


– More than $668,960 awarded to 37 recipients –

TORONTO (February 13, 2015) –Bell Media’s MuchFACT (A Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent) announced today the 37 fund recipients from the February 12, 2015 music committee meeting. With more than 303 applications considered, a total of $668,960 was awarded to Canadian musicians in the following categories: Music Content Package, Music Videos, Online Music Video/Project, and Digital Tools.


As MuchFACT continues to grow, the fund works to develop new and innovative ways to support artists and their music through creative content, across television and online platforms. Most recently, MuchFACT funded Jimmy Johnson’s “I Wanna” video, which has garnered more than 3.7 million views on World Star Hip Hop, Majid Jordan’s “Forever” that reached over 140,000 views on YouTube in two weeks, Tasha the Amazon’s “Thru the Fire” with almost 100,000 views on YouTube, and the Arkells “Leather Jacket”, an interactive experience that gives viewers the ability to choose the outcome of the video.


MuchFACT is proud to once again sponsor the JUNO Award for Video of the Year with two out of five nominees being MuchFACT recipients. This includes: “Lost You” by Zeds Dead featuring Twin Shadow, directed by Grandson & Son and Zeds Dead; and “Guilt Trip” by PUP, directed by PUP, Chandler Levack, and Jeremy Schaulin-Rioux.


Celebrating the best in Canadian Music Videos from the past year, MuchFACT is also a sponsor of the annual Prism Prize. Liz Trinnear, VJ and host of the MUCH COUNTDOWN, will be presenting at this year’s awards on Sunday, March 29 at TIFF Bell Lightbox.
