ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Canadian Content (as defined by the CRTC)
At least two of the audio components (on the majority of the musical works comprising the web site):
a) "M" - music is composed by a Canadian
b) "A" - artist (principal performer) is a Canadian
c) "P" - performance/production is in Canada
d) "L" - lyrics are written by a Canadian As well, the web site design team must be Canadian.
- Canadian Ownership
Canadian-controlled record labels, management companies, record production companies and Canadian citizens (or landed immigrants) including producers, managers, artists and web site designers are eligible to apply to PromoFACT. The rights to the master sound recordings and the web site must be owned by a Canadian-controlled company or Canadian citizen (or landed immigrant). - New Production
The objective of PromoFACT is to stimulate the production of web sites (or to upgrade/improve existing sites), not to provide funds for completed works. Please note that individual artist websites and/or record label and management company websites may receive PromoFACT funding only once every calendar year. Subsequent applications for upgrades to existing websites for individual artists must correspond with a new release. Subsequent applications for upgrades to existing websites for management companies or record labels must correspond with new releases or new signings. - Musical Genre
PromoFACT is sponsored exclusively by MuchMore. Artists who are likely to be programmed on MuchMorec (as opposed to artists who are likely to be programmed on MuchMusic, MusiquePlus or Musimax) are eligible to apply. Note: Artists applying for PromoFACT funding may only apply for viral video or website or epk funding at any one deadline.
